Hello, does any know anything about wisconsin law??? I bought a car on ebay from someone in your state and when I finally recieved the vehicle it was in worse condition than advertised. I tried to contact the seller to resolve the problem but they have ignored my requests. I was ripped off and now I think I have to take him to court. Problem is, I live in California. Does anyone know if I can sue the guy via mail??? or know of another resolution?? thanks

Wisconsin has a buyer be ware low which othen puts the seller in a safe position. However for motor vehicle sales there also fough saftey laws. If there is a saftey problem with the vehicle that the prior owner knows about he must disclose that to the seller or he is responsobile for the cost of repairing that saftey issue.

No I'm not a lawyer but have sold many cars to provate parties but doubt that I'd ever do it again with the present laws. Let the dealers worry about saftey regulations today. Also it your in a polution monitoring county you cannot sell a vehicle that does not meet the polution standards of your county.

go through ebay first. have you contacted ebay about this issue?

I had contacted paypal just yesterday and disputed the transaction. Ebay just wants to act as an arbitrator and charges $100 for their services

The car is a classic vehicle that isn't running...no motor/trani...as far as safety issues I would say the car is not salvagable...all of the sheet metal would need to be replaced to make it safe

How was the car described in the add? May I ask the year and model? Sometimes a car like that can cost more to ship then what the car itself sells for.

The car is a 67 chevy nova..the car was described as a project car with surface rust in some areas and others needed to be fixed...I was told that new parts would be included to repair some of the damaged ones...When I got the car almost all of it was decaying from rust..even the new parts that were provided had rust...

Most people in Wisconsin know about rusty autos. Could be what the seller thought was light rust in Wisconsin, is heavy rust in California. When I used to be into classic cars & trucks, we looked for cars from out west. You can find lots of low mileage engines, trannys, rear ends, & such in Wisconsin. That is because the body rusted away before anything else wore out.
