What sandbed would be suggested as well as how deep?
Any with Wrasse Dominated tanks?

So 2 in sandbed would work for w rasses to burrow in to hide etc.?

I have 7 wrasse in my 155 gallon, only 3 of which are pod eaters. I don't believe I'll ever have enough pods to support a mandarin. Hate it because I really wanted one.

Yes, 2" should be fine, assuming we are not talking about very large Wrasses.

Thanks for all the info. I think I am going to go for the wrasse tank with a pair of clowns and maybe a Royal Gramma. Which I will add last. Thanks again.

Little late to respond on multiple wrasses in a tank, I have a 120 gallon DT with a male Naoko, Male African Exquisite, Male McCoskers, Male and female African leopards, and a Richmond wrasse. Slight aggression was noted with each initial fairy addition but after a day or two everything became pretty peaceful. +1 on feeding multiple times a day (as these guys are constantly hunting), and a wide variety. I also would recommend a sand bed, but even deeper just for more piece of mind in case you do decide on getting a burrower that does get/is larger. I QT'ed the richmond (with a sand bed in QT) and every fairy separately after purchasing from my LFS but the African leopards went right in to the DT. I hope this helps, I have clowns in there as well and they do great!

Thanks for the response. Definitely not too late as my tank is coming in this week. Lol just trying to make a decision on what goes in it. What foods do you feed and have you had any problems keeping pods in your tank or do you have to buy them to add?

Any issues with keeping the African Leopards? I looked them up with your other fish to see what they look like and see they are listed as "Expert Only". Beautiful fish you have, any way you could post some pics of your tank?

Great! I feed cyclopeze, PE mysis, spirulina brine, krill, and Rod's food. I also have pellets and prawn that I use sporadically. I currently have pods and am experimenting with breeding pods using a bucket, air pump, thermometer, water change water and phyto that I found info on while searching forums/the internet Heres the pics of the african leopards I have. (I plan on getting pics uploaded of the others soon) They both eat cyclopeze, mysis,and brine. They were kept at the LFS for 2-3 weeks and ate mysis before taking home. They are very tough to keep, I had one not make it after 3 weeks of being in the tank and was more cautious with these two and waited for my tank to mature more (9 months for the female and then got the male maybe 1.5 years in, kind of did that backwards but luckily the female never changed and there were no issues when acclimating him to my tank.)
approx 40 wrasses out of ~75 fish...including 3 leopards, 1 mandarin, and a scooter blenny...
I do add a few 1000 pods about twice a year...just in case!

You have as many maybe more saltwater fish than the pet stores in my area. Lol. How long has your tank been running?

Here's quick shots of the other two. Interesting side note with the anemone in the background. I had two true perc's that the anemone hosted and gave them to a LFS, I eventually got two new true perc's and they won't go near it (has been this way for 6 months). Still holding out that one day they decide to go for it
this tank is 4 yrs old, but is an upgrade of 2 other tanks (130g and 170g) that were 7 yrs old

I figure I will have the same luck with an Anemone & Clowns lol . My kids want the clowns but I hopefully can pick the rest of the fish. Great pics, thanks for posting them.

I already have the set up for my 75 but the more pics I see of the w rasses makes me want to take her 100 gal tank that she got for cichlids and turn it into a saltwater tank but I would have to get it drilled for a sump.

albano, what is the fish with the blue vertical stripes and the yellow tail and pectoral fins? I don't recall ever seeing one like it before.

Yep,I thought it swam like a clown. Blue light does cause some wierd looks on a cell phone.
