No pink tips. With spot lighting though you might could get it like that. The first photo is close to what it looks like in my tank. Tips are white. The tips in the second photo are showing a bit of color due to the pinkish nature of the vho tubes and the cameras white bakance setting.
Steve, in your post where you said "this is how it could look under whiter light" is that photoshopped? Is its actual appearance the way it looks in your link? There is a big difference in the appearance in the two pics.....
Here is what it looked like two years ago when I first got it. It needs about 300 + par to maintain a bright yellow appearance otherwise it will darken.
