Anybody know of any chihuahua pups around here?

I would absolutely love to get a chihuahua puppy. I am wanting a tiny tiny little dog that I can handle easily, take places with me, and just have as a wonderful compainion. If anyone knows of anyone that has some very nice tiny ones, please let me know. Thank you.

Small dogs seem to have an easier time of finding homes. My mom has an Irish Setter mix and is now looking for a Yorki. She doesn't want to get one from a breeder, but find one that needs a home. She mentioned a few weeks ago she saw a Yorki/Chihuahua mix but she isn't a Chihuahua fan so she didn't inquire any further. I checked out a few of the shelter sites locally and I didn't see any small dogs.

You might also want to look for a rat terrier or a min pin, both great dogs. I have a rat terrier and I couldn't imagine life without her.

I just want to add, she is looking to add a second dog not to replace the setter.

thanks guys, thats kinda what I am doing too. I have a bulldog and a pug, who are extreemly sweet and think they are lapdogs, but they are too heavy for me (the pug is overweight) and they hurt me when they try to get in my lap. My dogs have always been a great comfort to me, anytime I dont feel well, they are there to cheer you up. I really want a tiny dog to lay with me, one I can lift in and out of the bed and so on. I love my pug and bulldog and would never ignor or replace them, they are my babies. I appreciate your input.

BTW, I just checked Petfinder again. Several Shihuahua mixes around the area.

Hey, thank you. I found one in the area and she is only going to be about 3 lbs. Thats what her parents weigh and she is 9 weeks old and only 18 ounces, so I think she will too. I can visit her until she is ready and meet with the parents as well, I know this person too, had no idea she breds chi's.

I only just found this thread. But if the one you found does not work out, I can get you one from the next batch. My daughter raises some beautiful chihuahuas. She gave my younger daughter one for christmas last year. She has turned down 600+ for it several times. Markings very disticnt and unusual.

I am sure she would give you one.
