Anybody know who has tank bred Bangaiis in stock?

I cannot find any major online vendor that has them in stock. Ive been on "email-when-in-stock lists" for months.

Anybody got any insider info :) ?

My "LFS" gets them from a local breeder. Pretty common as they are easy to breed.

Think that might be were I picked up mine -- beyond... ?

No bigger then a quarter.

Seeing as how these are so easy to breed, why are they in short supply?

Its looks like I am going to try to find a breeder and beg them to ship.

I got a pair off DD and they were barely the size of a dime. One was DOA and the other has tripled in size over the last four months. The only ones I have found are on DD, although at that size, calling them pairs is a joke.

Check with local reefers in your area, because there's a good chance someone has some.
You could also check Inland Aquatics, since they routinely have them.

Nobody around here does anything out of the ordinary. I might have to look into a nearby big city, like Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA.

I sent an email to Inland Aquatics. Also going to see if the LFS can help with ORA.

Other than that, I guess I'm screwed. I wanted at least 5.

Why 5?
Groups of banggai often don't do all that well. They're not as bad a chromes, but they can really beat on each other until you have only a pair left. They will tolerate their own kids a little better, but even then can start beating on them when they're big enough.

Unless I learn how to tell M from F, my plan was to put them in a tank to themselves until one pair forms, then moving the pair to their own tank.

If a pair can be formed from the remaining three, they they will have a tank to themselves, with the loner either going to the fish store or the 220 reef. If not, all 3 to the LFS.

With juvies, most articles Ive read say start with 4-5 until a pair forms. Return the rest.

Is it hard to tell M from F in Bangaii?
