One of the reasons why the board has been quite is alot of old members are in either not in the club or havent recovered from the ice storm that happened over a year ago.
That event has taken a toll on this hobby, its hard to get back in it after a total wipe out of your system.Lucky for some of us that had a Generator or like me had to go buy one.
And this hobby is up and down alot with people coming in and going out.

We are finally settled in to our new house and starting over with our corals, hopefully get can get back to where we were a year ago but this will take some time.......which we have plenty of atm:D

I plan on trying to make it to the presentation. I'm too lazy to make my own food anyway. :)

I'm sure your correct about the timing. I also seem to remember hearing the adds running on the radio for about a month now. I think the OMAS meeting time was changed after the radio ads. (not trying to stir poop) Just stating that I don't think the presentation was set up to mess with OMAS.

Could be wrong, You know how :furious: EVIL STORE OWNERS are...
(JUST KIDDING!!!!) I like most of the store owners I have met!

Sweet!

was the site down or did I just type it in wrong the first time?

That is the question that has plagued men from the begining of time....

I'm with Donny... I think a lot of it is that people are still recovering from the ice storm hit. My tank survived, but most of my coral was wiped out, and I've just barely maintained my tank for the last year... I've only really started trying to get it back in shape in the last few months. And things do come and go... I suppose if we want more action on the boards, we should all post more... I know I check the boards frequently, but don't post ALL that often, myself.
Looking forward to the meeting!

BTW, we'll be at this meeting and I'll be bringing maybe some home-made Kung Pao shrimp and fried rice if anyone is interested. Let me know or I can whip up something else.

Jeez, I went out of town for a funeral and look at what I come back to... :) I sent out a email to everyone on 1-4-08 about the January newsletter. The newsletters first statement is about the meeting. Jeff I made sure your email was on there.( I apologize if you did not recieve it.) I also posted an annoucement on RC on the 1-7-08 about the newsletter if no bothered to read to than that's not my fault.

Yes the OMAS meetings are always on the 3rd Saturday, Lori & Donny had to back out and Jarrod stepped in. His wife had surgerey that weekend(She's Fine BTW) That's the reason for the schedule change.

Wow! I got home today and did my normal routine of checking the omas and comas forums when I stumbled on to this thread. As I was reading I was thinking wow someone started some drama today. I then realized to my surprise I had posted something, so I scrolled back up to the top of the thread where I noticed it was me! That's when I realized what had happened, the wife had logged on under my name! She obviously decided to vent publicly today. Maybe I will let her on here more often, it did give us something to read on here for awhile. On second thought I think I will set her up an account pretty soon! Pm me if you have any comments or questions for her, I'll give you her e-mail. lol.
Oh side note I think the meeting date was changed because comas is now having there meetings on the third saturday of the month and has done so since CRASE. The members who attend both were having to pick one or the other so they changed the omas date.

No worries :p , it certainly got everyone to post a few messages! There was more activity today than nearly the last week!

Since I work on my computer all day (and night) I often keep a browser opened with a couple forums up just to see what's going on. It was getting so slow here that I was not bothering to refresh them any more. I was actually getting too much work done without the distractions and was going to run out of things to do if it kept up.

I did'nt see Johns post so I guess comas was not the reason for the date change. However I hope that they can continue to be on different dates so that we can attend both if we choose.

Jerrod (not Kristin)

Nice point, I will see what everybody else says. Remind me at the meeting.
I guess I might be a little sensitive when someone says it's an oops on OMAS part. I work alot of hours and really try to keep the group informed.

Thanks to everyone for posting. I was starting to wonder if Tulsa was still over there.
COMAS moved the meetings because of other conflicts. It will go back to the second Saturday starting next month.
OMAS, the input here is good and I am going to agree that there are a lot of noobies out there reading these post. We need to post more info for their benefit.

There are only four (sometimes 5) Saturdays each month and there will always be something going on. Who do you accomodate: OU or OSU; OMAS or COMAS; local seminars or club meetings? Odds are that someone is going to be disappointed, no matter which you choose. Consensus is good, but at some point you just have to make a tough decision. I think John's doing a great job of keeping all the plates spinning, while juggling schedules at the same time.

Yup...got it...but just because I got it, doesn't mean I will remember what was in it more than about 5 minutes. Old age sucks... :(

I hear ya on that one, now what was it we were talking about, I must have forgotten...

It looks like old age is taking it's toll on all of us. I need to make a correction to the above post about COMAS meetings. Being that Valentines day is on the second Saturday, the club voted to move it to the third Saturday the 21st. Maybe COMAS will move it back in March.
