John, don't read more into the "oops on OMAS's part" comment than was there.
You probably will need blood pressure meds if you let something like that bother you.
I am not a member of OMAS (ya'll probably wouln't like me anyway, I speak my mind way too much-and I am not a politically correct thinker) but will be moving this way in a few months.
I don't care to start off by making the president have medical problems
So, take what I said with a grain of salt. I am quite the smartaXX sometimes.

It's good to see a club working together and spreading the word about their meetings. However, I'm confused as to why the meeting at Premier was attacked when it seems like a thing many new people to the salt water hobby would be at. It seems like that would be a great place for omas members to be to help promote the club and get omas numbers up and bring many new faces into the club.

imnotanerd, some people in our club have strong feelings, So I suppose some felt challenged by the schedule conflict and might have taken offense, believing it was intentional (not speaking for anyone inparticular) I don't think there was any malice from Scott K. on when he set up the seminar date just like there wasn't when I had to move our meeting to that Saturday night.

We as club weren't asked as a club to particpate in any way. Well its hard to promote a club if memebers aren't there promoting it at the meeting as well. You guys are always more than welcome at meetings bring sign up sheets wear omas shirts have a sign around your neck that says OMAS is awesome haha any of these wouldn't bother us.
I've been following this thread for a couple of days now, and I gotta say this is kinda pathetic. Honestly I can't believe that someone from OMAS actually has the balls to say that premier shouldn't have scheduled an event for the same night. I would have to say that a call like that boils down to straight jealousy. I mean my god, if you get upset about this, then OMAS is worse off then I thought it was. Members of OMAS have always had good ideas to promote the club and get things going that would make it grow, but nobody has ever done ANYTHING to get the ball rolling. I can uderstand that John is too busy to do alot of stuff, but where is the motivation from anyone else? I haven't seen anyone say a thing about how OMAS is a dying organization, but when someone OTHER than OMAS actually trys to spread general information about the hobby to people that need it, then you come out of the woodwork and say something? Seriously? This is pathetic, be mature about it and actually do something to make OMAS grow instead of just complaining. My god, we're supposed to be adults here.
And for those of you who are going to go report me to the mods for promoting Premier, I'm no longer working for them and no longer affiliated with them in any way.

I will state this again for some of the people that have not read this thread..................My wife had to have a procedure done so we moved the meeting to this weekend.So if you have any ill feelings about this give me a shout and we can meet up and discus these matters.This is insane to be wasting space in this forum about who is jealous of who and what and why.Its even more crazy that the four people that are even saying anything negative about OMAS are working or formaly employed by said store who droped there sponsership from the club.I am glad you had your class and by no means did we have any ill feelings towards it.
Everyone has read the thread Jarrod. And the reason as to why the meeting night was changed isn't at question here. Things come up and events change, I understand that. What really makes me mad is youngreef180's "wife" posting a topic about how premier is competing with OMAS for people. I mean that's honestly just plain stupid. Scott has been talking about doing this for more than a month, and the sale has been planned for just as long. The fact that Oddballs did the same thing just to stick it to premier doesn't mean he is in the right. Maybe if everyone would look at the facts they'd notice that.
And scott can say anything he likes. He payed for his membership, then dropped it. Did he get a refund? No. So unless I'm wrong, he's still a member till march.
I don't hate the club, I think it is a good thing. A little unorganized, but a good thing none the less. What I hate is the petty people that get on here just to bash another store. It's bull. Get over it, and go do somethin constructive.

I hope that by saying that it was stupid you meant the idea of competition between the two entities and not the person that had posted the statement. I will however give you the benefit of the doubt by saying it was the idea. None the less I will be reporting this thread to the mods in hopes that it will extinguish the animosity and we can all move on. I apologize deeply to "wife" and hope that anyone who agrees with me would please follow suit and report also.
