I'm looking for a clown and a purple tang about 3 or 4 inches for my 125. Aqua Hut is always hit or miss. They have had the same purple tangs in the LR tanks for a while, but not for sale. If anybody sees them around, feel free to let me know. Thanks, much appreciated.

i seen a few purples at aquahut on saturday, not sure if there still there or not. they also had 2 unicorn tangs.

and i almost always see clowns when i go to fishtown USA. you can call and ask them.

The purples at AH were probably the ones in the Live Rock tank. They aren't in a rush to get them out either. If they were in the smaller fish tanks, let me know. Thanks.

Not sure if you ever dealt with a clown tang before but they are a brute of a fish, and they dominate all fish in the tank at AMW.
They are also a tough fish in terms of keeping them alive, they come from the shallow tremendous surge zones of the reef.
I often see mine "surfing" at the 1.5" eductors that are putting out 200 gallons per minute flow.

I have been pretty fortunate keeping fish alive, but I had no luck with clown tangs. As Joe says above, I have heard the same from others who have tried.

Perhaps a good way to add one is to wait for a local reefer to get rid of one that has done well in captivity.

Pets of NHP usually has tangs in stock. Give them a rinmg and jorney out to the city LOL My clown tang died with my ick outbreak :( I had it for 2 years and it was about 2 inches when i got it. I only have 4 tangs left :( Thanks No Sick Fish.................

Chris, have my sailfin tang if your interested. If you want to rid yourself of any of the last 4 tangs, I have a 55 QT I can try to hypo them.

Thanks greggnyce, but that thing would dissappear in my tank. I finally got to PW tonight. He's a tiny fella.

Tom thanks but it seems the ick is pretty much gone. It ran its course and 2 fish i thought id lose pulled thru. Those are the Sohal and the Purple. The other 2 survivors are the Scopas and rthe sailfin. Seems those 2 fish never really got more than a few spots on them. I also have the Hippo in the cube that will now be transfered to the 125 which works out. The part that kills me is a lost the parents of my hybrid clowns. There irreplaceable. So for now atleast im still unsure what i want to do with my tank. No new additions coming anytime soon for me. I may sell off the softies and just go FO with the survivors and ofcoarse my 4 eels :)

Chris,
You do understand that your problem is not gone, you just see less of the symptoms, right?
Adding more fish will only put them in harm's way, unless you eradicate the problem.

He's right Chris. Let me QT and hypo your purple tang. I swear I'll willingly give him back:D Hypo did wonders for my fish, while leaving the display fallow for over 8 weeks eradicated the ich. If you are so close to losing all of your few fish left, you might want to consider getting rid of them, waiting 2 months and start by QTing all of your future fish.

That's very good advice. Not always easy to follow, but certainly worth the effort to do so.
If you solve the problem, and QT all new comers from that point on, you will NEVER have to deal with ICH again.

I know its not gone. I dont plan on buying anything for a long time. Thanks for the offer and advice :)
