Anybody think these will survive?

I placed a order from a reefer on the boards and this is what my frag looked like at his place.
Pretty nice if you ask me












This is what they came in looking like yesterday and they are still this way now.
Maybe a little worse.

Anyone think any of these polyps will survive?
I put them in low light (shaded) and moderate flow.


 
I received a frag like that not to long ago. Mine did come around but hasn't colored up yet. I know it's gonna be a beaut when it does :D . Hopefully yours will do the same.
 
I wouldn't worry, yet. Seems like about 25% of the frags I get take awhile to open and then everything is fine. I got four X Men about two weeks ago, three of them opened about as soon as the frag hit my tank water and the fourth one just opened today. Granted they didn't look quite as bad as yours but I would ask the person you got them from and see if he / she has any advice on tank placement.
 
I sure hope they survive!! They do look pretty dismal. Hopefully, the seller will make it right if they don't survive, seeing as how they arrived looking like that.
 
The "heads" will probably fall off or deteriorate away within the next couple of days. From there, you can probably salvage a polyp or two if lucky. =\
 
they are not a foregone conclusion yet IMO.

It appears they were cut and then possibly not given the appropriate time to heal before shipping as the culprit to why they did ship so poorly.
 
I did move a tunze 6045 so that they get a little more flow.
Part of the problem with alot of flow is the polyps are so loose.
Some are ready to fall off and as one did in the bag.
Thinking about doing a lugols dip, using the directions on the bottle for dips, in saltwater.
 
Mine did that on the same frag like yours. The minute I moved the to more flow and light, it started doing better. One polyp has already opened back up to normal. Looked worse then yours.
 
The person I got them from says to move them into complete shade, that my lights must be too bright.
 
ugh they look like they are getting worse! I feel your pain.

I was about to order that exact frag too, whew.

I do like to put new corals in a low spot ( with good flow ) for a day or so and then bring them up, but not complete shade.
I don't think the person I bought them from has a lot of experince with zoanthids, hence the advice.
They are getting reflected light, so they are not in the dark.
I hope this person is going to be reasonable when the end comes, which I believe is going to happen evetually.
 
I'm also wondering about, what looks like tumor like growth all over the colony.
I did get another frag ( 2 polyps) with this order that was in another bag that looks pretty good, but it also has tumor like growth at the base of the polyps.


Also tonight the heads look they will fall off. The stalks are constricting and getting narrow, even on one of the better looking polyps.
 
Well, they look worse this morning ( even the ones on the left) so I contacted the seller and he agreed that it's time to send some new ones.
I'm going to pay for shipping.
Zoanthid people can be great. :)
 
Thats good news for you, and to the seller, you are a stand up guy/gal, good for you, I would buy from you any time.
