What "white balance" card are you using? I have a hard time getting the correct color when I shoot through the glass unless the coral is 3" away from the camera, I think I need to get the macro lens to improve my colors
That won't do anything for your colors.

The WB card or the Lens? The WB card will help with colors and the lens should help over all with focus, that and the fact I need to find my user manual so I can play with the settings more. I can get some really good pics but some of them just down right suck and show the colors nothing like what I see every day.

A macro lens screwed onto the front of your existing lens will not improve your colors. It shouldn't help your focus either. It is literally just taking a picture though a magnifying glass. The cards should help your color correction but can be tedious to use correctly. The easiest way I think is to apply them with "levels" in Photoshop. That is pretty hassle free but if you are a color accuracy freak trying to set the white balance in camera...it is no easy task.

meh, it is pretty simple to set WB just fill your FOV with the card, preferably out of focus and click (of course you need to menu your way to the WB focus option first)

the macro lens will allow you to focus on things closer while optical zoomed in.. but they will distort your image a bit

i usually do a manual white balance just shooting at the sand. it gives a decent representation. i did not do that, however in those last shots i did. just kinda shot, sharpened and posted...

They are the same thing...just a magnifying glass that clips onto the end of your camera. Same brand, same model, same price, same everything.
