anybody use the canon s5is?

with the macro attachment lens, you have to zoom a bit or you get vignetting. the macro lens has a smaller opening than the lens itself so you can actually use the full zoom (12x or 48x) with it on for a clear picture. you have to be about 6-7 inches away from the subject though. any closer or farther away, its blurry.

I'm about to buy the DCR-250. Any regrets? Would you still buy it again?

i would definitely buy one again. i kinda want a 150 also just out of curiosity.
if you have a big tank, it wont do much good, cause like i said, you still have to be pretty close.

in my new 75 i cant focus on stuff more than halfway in with the 250 on. just somethin to think about. its great for regular photography though.

Sorry about not responding....ReefCentral stopped notifying me of new posts to this thread so I thought everyone had lost interest in it. I would definitely buy the camera again!

Are you getting in focus pics on close up zoom on objects from the middle to the back of your tank?

Yeah, I have trouble focusing on things farther back in my tank....I haven't found any way to get Macro shots of anything farther than 7-8 inches from the glass, with or without the lens.

Those look good! Is that a white Hammer coral? How did you get so close to it in Super Macro mode (or maybe you just cropped it?)

I think i cropped it, i cant really remember, i think i may have even used just macro mode with manual focus.
