I have been battling a small patch of dinoflagellates my my tank lately and was wondering if any locals have had this problem. If so, what type of water do you use, salt ect. I first thought that the film I was always cleaning from my tank panels was diatoms, but after examining a little better. I realized that I had a small patch of dino's.

Dripping Kalk has far been the best method for me. I am a little learly on the light starving method with clams in the tank.

Anyways, dinoflagellates are referred to by Julian Sprung, and Randy Holmes as the cancer of reefkeeping, here are some threads on the subject.
