anyone been to IMAC yet?

for those of you who went yesterday or today, what are the "must see" booths. I may be going tomorow but I will have limited time and want to know which places to go.

I will be looking for Cheap RO/DI and refractometer

Also, which booth has the nicest frags

Premium Aquatics is here with those things...Probable a couple others.

I tried to get some pricing from premium aquatics and after waiting 45min I had to leave.

The one guy running the booth couldn't be interupted while chatting to another vender while I and about 5 others, who wanted to buy something, just left.

oh well..

I'm not one to bash people and I'll probably still mail order from them but, the service was poor at best.

But is the purpose of IMAC to sell stuff? I thought it was to showcase new products etc.. Not to sell a refractometer?? Not trying to bash or anything but that's what I would think.

Chris,

It's 3 things....Education (i.e. the presentation sessions on the hobby), new products (i.e. the electronic ballast that can dial in to any wattage bulb, the needlewheel Dart pump) and selling corals and drygoods (Premium Aquatics, Sharky's reef...etc).

Historically, they've always had one of the most busy booths here. They throw up a good discount at the show for stuff but yea, they are busy...If you hit them while the presentation sessions are going on, you'll get Jeremy (that's the guy here).

I tried. I was looking to buy that co2 tank and reg they have there on the table and I couldn't get a word in so I left..

It was during presentaions too.

i thought that they gave discounts....nah...PA wanted 80bucks for a 400w....i said nnope...saltycritters was cheaper at 63...they gave a 10% discount ......when i was at the P.A. booth he wasn't buzy at all.....i picked up a couple of frags and some blue zoas from SHARKYS ...i still cant say no to sharkys reef.....ha

Then you didn't see the painted clam at Sharky's!!!

It was pretty amazing seeing some of the top people in the country gawking at it......... Wish I had a look-down to showcase it in!

Let's see, there was great corals at Sharky's, Rods-Reef and Oceans Floor, ORA and a few others!

Some cool new gadgets that I just gotta have.........

The best part is seeing fellow reefers, meeting and talking with the presenters and going to the educational sessions!

That painted clam was unreal. I've never seen anything like it. Not worth the 500 they are asking for it tho.

All the big reef people were amazed at the clam so yeah I would say it is something specail. I'm a huge clam fan and I was floored when I saw it. There were alot of people taking pics of it so I wouldnt be surprised if it ends up in some reef book. IMAC was a ton of fun, the best part was meeting fellow reefers. Lots of cool corals and great prices and great stuff from the local vendors.

I went and spent too much money and time, but was dissappointed...didnt get to meet any of y'all!! i didnt see anyone in the RC booth...slackers!!!

Oh and for PA, they were busy but i shoved everyone outta the way and asked some cute girl behind the counter for what i wanted...i dont think she knew much because she had to interupt the main dude, but she was better at interrupting him than i was!

A good time, i may go tomorrow, but i dont think i will bring money
