Anyone Buy From Hellolights?

Gone Postal
I bought a bulb from hellolights. It arrived a couple of days ago. It won't fire. I've been trying to get in touch with them and it's like they are untouchable.

I've emailed with no response.
I've called and left messages with no response.
I've submitted a message through their website (I'm sure that just goes to their email) with no response.

I've even hit the number to get connected to SALES instead of support and I can't get a live person to answer the darn phone.

I'm about ready to call 911 and send the cops over there to make sure they haven't all be slain or something. J/K

I don't know what else I can do.

I can't help your situation, just say my experience with them has been much different then yours. I bought 2 Reeflux bulbs there recently. Arrived on time, great. Before I purchased I emailed support with the email on the site askign a few questiosn and they got back to me within a few hours.

I'd just keep trying.

That's weird. I bought some bulbs recently and one of them arrived broken. I contacted them via email and within a day I had a response saying they would ship a new bulb to me. It arrived a few days later. Try adam@hellolights.com. That's the guy that helped me out.

I don't know how you guys got to "Live Chat" If you press on the lady that is saying Leave a Message it brings up like a "compose" window for you to type them a message. I've done that.

If you go under that and click on the words "Live Chat" you get a screen that gives you all kinds of choices to chat with someone but it doesn't appear to be people from hellolights. Like I said - I don't know how you guys got to Live Chat.

I guess I'll send an email to Adam.

I can't believe a company not even picking up the phone when you press #1 for the Sales Dept. - Try it, you'll see.

Maybe they are a small company and had to leave the office for some time, I would give them the benefit of doubt and wait 24hrs for an answer.

You don't understand. I have been trying to get in touch with them ALL day yesterday and ALL day today already.

I did just run across something in the FAQ on their site though.

This isn't about why I can't get in touch with them but does have to do with my problem.

I bought a 20k Radium bulb and it won't fire. I just read that it takes a special ballast to fire it.

How do you know if your ballast is ANSI M81 or capable of running HQI bulbs?

The ballast is:

BallastWise Electronic Ballast
Model: DXE175HID1

LOL - THAT IS THE PROBLEM

This ballast is suppose to run A type bulbs. It wasn't meant to fire a 20k Radium

What doesn't make sense now is why this ballast was running a DE Coralife bulb. I don't think it should have fired that either but it does.

I bought two 4bulb t5 setups from them and haven’t had an issue. Hope you can get it resolved.

i have bought ALL my mh bulbs from hellolights before i had 2 issues 1 i bought a 10k coralvue that was pinkish in color wich it was a known problem when these bulbs first came out they sent me another 1 right away w/o even reciveing theirs first then i switched over to xm 10ks 1 of them didnt turn on at times again they replaced the bulb with no problem as long as they are in buissness i wil be a loyal customer unless they dont have the bulb im looking for. goodluck with your situation.

chuck, ive ran 4 types of bulbs with that ballast and they all worked fine. pretty sure it even fired my radium bulb that i have thinking about it.

think in referernce is exactly comparable to this ballast

about hellolights, just saw on the top they are moving to a diferent facility, so thats probably the reason your having trouble.

LOL - you are right that they are in the process of moving. I see that now. I'm sure that's why no one has contacted me however it would have been wise of them to at least leave one person answering the phone during the move. IMO That is sort of dumb on their part.

I still don't understand this bulb thing. I'm still not sure if the problem is the bulb or the ballast. The ballast still fires the corallife bulb.
