Anyone else have problems with the coralife digital timer powerstrip

Well I just reprogramed one so we will see how it does tomorrow. By the way I just ordered three sexy shrimp for my pico. Gonna be sweet

I ordered them from petco in hendersonville. As long as you pick it up from them the day it comes in while its still in the bag its cool. If you dont and they take it out of the bags and into their tanks its gonna be ich city. Brandy the girl who does all the fish orders knows this and will tell you what time the order is coming in so you can pick them up. I normally dont get livestock from them but you cant beat sexy shrimp for 8 bucks a piece and free shipping.

Its always the same problem too, the auto function will just quit working at random and then the point of the powerstrip is just useless.

We've had the same problem with these units. The customer service is good from the manufacturer, but we've returned at least 50 of them for this same reason; they are surely aware of the problem and must be getting tired of it  I would have chosen another unit in hind-sight, but we put them on all of the systems from the start and so are already "invested" in them, so returning for replacements is what we've been doing until we can upgrade to a more reliable system.

They seem to show the problem or not within a few days (once they've been running ok for a while, they don't seem to break later). Now we always put in a fresh back-up battery with the new (replacement) units and let it run a few cycles before "going live" on a system. Last week I opened up and tested three bad ones in a row :(

In a way I'm glad to hear we aren't alone, but sorry to hear others are having trouble too.

With mine. If I reprogram it the auto doesn't work until it cycles through the times. Like I will set it and then will have to turn it to "on" and then to "auto" (which will turn the light off) and the next day it catches up to itself.

I Purchased two of them... 1 of them does exactly as you said...
I would stay away from these... had them for about 2 months and im not too happy with them... Can anyone suggest an alternative being around the same price? are the manual timers much better?

Just use a regular timer plugged into a quality Surge protector would be my suggestion.
They are not the prefeered method a controller can be had used for a little more than what you will end up spending on all this stuff JMO
