Anyone else's Naso tang do this?

My Naso tang will go from regular color, to solid black...Is there a reason for this? There's nothing in the room that could be scaring him so...he's a little thing too. Only 3 1/2 inches.:strooper:

Some fish just do that. To me, it's a mood thing. He's hungry, happy, mad, bored, lonely... something.

Quite a few of my previous fish would swim along happily and change colors to dark, then back to normal, then to really light, then back to normal. No behavioral difference and no other fish acting different either, it just seemed to almost be random but I'm sure there was something triggering the change.

mine does that and if he gets really angry or scared he also shows white spots. He looks like a naso dalmation

I won't verify the "angry or scared" part, but definitely when something happens in the community or when I put my hands in deep. His/her white spots are usually along the dorsal spine part of his body.

Perhaps I'm just paranoid lol. My little one has to make sure there isn't any food stuck to my fingers when I deal with the corals.
Thanks all,
Steph

I've had several Naso's as well, the young/small ones do seem to stress or change easy, usually having the white spots appear.

My Powder Brown turns BLACK with Yellow zebra stripes vertically down her body and he dorsal fins get intense if I invade her space or turn my back of the tank mirror in the wrong direction and she can see herself....she does this when the side panels are too clean too.
