Anyone ever have a Golden Angel?

a very shy fish , you will rarely see it . i have one and for the first month i never saw it in fact i thought it had died but my aquarium has many caves for it to hide in.

In Quarantine it wouldnt eat any pellets but i saw it eating micro algae and nipping at zoanthids in my tank , If there are alot of corals , the nipping maybe dispersed a bit. Not an easy fish to get to feed prepared food but is possible mine is eating chopped mussel now.

Here is a pic of it before it went into Q , lovely fish in the light!

I had one but couldn't get it to eat. I dont think my potters would let it venture to far away from the corner area of the tank so it couldnt get enough of the rock eather.

Still looking for one that will eat but the Girlfriend really doesn't like it and wants a different angel. It's for the 65 so it's defintely gonna be a dwarf angel. I believe the options as of now are a venustus angel, maybe an ebili which I really don't like or maybe a heraldi angel (don't know if I spelt that right)

I found a Golden Angel today at a Store outside of Philly. They wanted 70 for him, He had torn up fins and looked pretty fat but wouldn't eat anything at all. I offered the store 50 and they said NO. I said it would be better to get 50 for it than let it die in that tank. The average person will not buy a fish with torn up fins.

Where are you located? Try calling the Frazer Zoo in Malvern, the guy to talk to there is Mike. I was talking to him earlier this week about some different fish he could get in and the Golden Angel was one that came up, the price he quoted me was very good too. Mike is a good guy and of all the people I've met at LFS's in the Philly area probably the one with the most knowledge who cares about the fish/corals he is selling. It's not uncommon at all for him to say that he won't sell something because he wants to make sure it's healthy first.

sent you a PM, but yes The Frazer Zoo is not actually a zoo but a LFS in Malvern PA, Mike doesn't own it but pretty much "owns" the fish section.
