Anyone experienced with Tubipora?

The other day I could not resist buying a gorgeous piece from Fish and Reef. It's polyps were out and about and spectacular. Since I have gotten it home (3 days), I have only seen the occasional polyp poking out.

Fish and Reef kept it under compact flourescents and I have T5s. Borneman's book is a bit confusing as it to its flow likes. Anyone experienced wit these guys? Thx.

THx. I tried google, but found cvonflicting info....... most seem to quote Borneman.

Last night I moved it into some stronger flow and a little deeper but still in the light. It opened up a bit.

I read on the site that increased phytoplankton increases rotifers. I feed live phytoplankton so I guess my rotifers should have a nice population........

Thx again.

look at it this way , it's new and needs time to acclimate, give it a week or so and if it's still all closed up then see what you can change to make it happy.

Thx again. I gopt home today and there are about a dozen "flowers" poking out:)

Do corals often take long to acclimate?

I have 2 of them and they are about 3 months old. 1st thing I noticed is they are very fragile. They crack and split very easy. My are out all the time which is a surprise seeing how many problems I have had with my tank. I don't have a lot of flow on them at all. I have had 2 occations with them where they were covered with red algae for days and they always come back. I do nothing special with mine.

Bolt, thx much. I am not sure if it is the acclimating or moviung to less flow, but now over half of the polyps are out and more are coming out each day:)
