I've never rock picked, i go to bodega bay it is a dive only spot....i think you have to go pretty far North to rock pick. If you want to learn i can teach you to dive. It's not hard just hold your breath and relax. But if you can't swim i don't recommend diving.

Do you happen to know the name of the rock picking spot? I know some places that are generally dive spots can be rock picking spot during low tides but I cant swim but would really like to do some rock picking if possible. TIA. BTW, hey Tom, long time no talk :)

Shaned, I can swim but not a strong swimmer so I shouldn't be out there.

Theo, what's up bud? how you been? Got your big tank up and running yet?

I believe fort Bragg? I think you can do some Google searches on rock picking spots. With the poaching that has gone on for the last few years it is hard to find rock picking spots and low tide is a must for rock pickers. I do know a few places that you only need to dive in 7-8 feet of water on low tide....you can almost touch bottom. But I guess that would still be considered diving. When it is that shallow it has to be a calm day or you will get beat up....see you guys at the meeting. It will be my first.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to do some searching

Tom - no tank at all. I still peruse the forums but no tank. This break has lasted a lot longer than anticipated but I suppose I've saved myself a lot of money and a couple headaches :)
