what happened? how bad was it? what have you changed since then?

are you ready for the next big one?

i am planning the next system and want to be as safe as possible.

I'm on my way out the door but will say this,in the Northridge Quake I had fish and water splash out over 3 feet into the middle of my living room,in hindsight I was luck I wasn't stepping on fish while trying to make my way out in the dark(I don't think). The tank stayed put but it was in wall shelf. Now, it's on a tall stand so it could be worse.

Now,I keep my tank in my office which I will not need to pass while trying to make my way out the door in the event of another quake.I don't want to worry about stepping on glass or slipping in water.

I lived in Temple City during the Whitter Narrows quake and in So San Gabriel during the Northridge quake...The tank moved an inch off the stand during the WN quake and I lost about 10 gals of water....Not much happended during the Nr quake, maybe a little water loss.

I had two 60 gallon freshwaters back in 89 (I think) during the 6.7 earthquake in OC. The rocked and spashed water, but everything was fine otherwise.
