Its the Mustang Club Of America 30th Anniversery show and its being held at Barber Motorsport Park in Birmingham this weekend. Its going to be a huge show with over 1,000 cars there. Lots of people coming from all over the country as well.

I'll be there all weekend starting friday representing the mustang website I run. Just curious to see if anyone else from here was interested in mustangs and was going to the show.

Here's more info on it: http://www.mustang.org/specialevents/MCA.cfm?home

I've been holding on to it, but I guess I'll burn number 500 for this. I wanted to make a really profound post about the joy and pain of why we do what we do, but oh well!

Before there were reef tanks, there was my love of the Ford Mustang. My parents are coming up and we are making a weekend of it. I am so psyched up about.

Also, if anyone can believe it, reefing is a much cheaper hobby!
So when your _______(fill in the blank) tells you "I am sick and tired of how much you spend on those fish!" You can reply with a smile on your face and say, "At least I don't collect antique cars."

Did I mention I can't wait.

Here's to the good times I've had getting here, and the many good times ahead....

Yes I know the show went on for 4 days, but here is the deal.
I was not available to go out there until today. I had no way to change that fact!

My parents drove up yesterday from Florida. We went to morning church and then went to the show at lunch. By the time we got there over 2/3 of the cars were gone. The schedule showed that the cars would not be released until 3:00 pm. We stopped at the gas station first and found out from the scores of cars pouring out that they had changed the agenda and gave out awards this morning so everyone could go home early.

When we made it to the gate they assured it that the awards had not been given out and that they were not sure if many of the cars had left.(At the same time that about 20 cars streamed out of the park right by them.) They still wanted to charge the $20 admission fee.

My mom and wife dropped us off and my Dad and I went in since we had been looking forward to this for almost a year. What we found was maybe 150 cars that were packing up as quick as they could. No one had any time for us in the vendor boothes, and we heard the tower announce that awards would stop being given out by 3:00pm, not start then.

We met a few nice owners, and I did get some good pictures. For the most part I was seriously dissapointed that the specific itenarary that was printed in the Official Program that I was given three weeks ago was tossed to the wind on the last day.

I asked the ticket taker who gave us another copy of the program why everyone was leaving before the three o' clock departure time, she had no idea.

Due to doctors appointments and work schedules Sunday was the only day we could spend at the park, and I really wanted my parents to go to church with us.

I knew we would only have a few hours to enjoy the hundreds of cars, but I had accepted that fact. I have been involved in many shows including two nationals, and an MCA Grand National, and I guess that is why I was so severely upset by it all. Why even make a schedule if you cannot follow it through to the end!

If you have read this, thank you very much. I have enjoyed venting, and I think my blood pressure has almost returned to normal.

I still love Mustangs,

Yeah cars and vendors started bugging out early on sunday. I think the heat and blazing sun wore everyone out earlier than expected. I know it took its toll on me.

All in all, a great show and I got to drive on the track so that was worth all the sweat and work!
