Anyone got a Jigsaw I can borrow near Agoura/Thousand Oaks?

I'm in the process of upgrading my sump and fuge from 2 10g tanks to a single 30g combined sump/fuge. This upgrade is long overdue because it'll give me more water volume, allow me to get a bigger skimmer, top off less and it will take up less real estate to boot!

The tank that I'll turn into the sump will arrive on Tuesday and I should be done with the baffle installation and what not by Thursday.

At that time I'll need to cut off my stand's center brace to insert the sump. I'm pretty sure I can pull it off since the center bar looks to be just decorative and isn't really part of the actual frame.

So I was wondering if someone could help me out by loaning me a jigsaw for a day or two? I'm in the Agoura/Thousand Oaks area and would love it if I didn't have to drive too far :)

I have a frag of zoas that I could give in exchange for the loan.

Here's a pic of my current setup

is your tank full of water?

That brace looks structural to me, why would anyone want a 2X4 for decoration? :D

If you need to remove it I'd recommend taking out the screws and tapping it out with a wood block and a sledge. If the tank is full it will likely not want to go back into the spot so you might have to sand a little stock off the top/bottom to get it back in.

It should be fine without the brace for a short time but will likely begin to sag in that spot eventually causing your tank to have an unstable/uneven stand....

It's not a 2x4, it's a piece of plywood (as is the rest of the stand). I stuck my head inside the stand to see how it all connected and this piece isn't even supporting the frame. The front is more like a big front piece of trim with a big hole cut in the middle with the center piece inserted.

It's stapled in there so I don't know how I'd be able to take it out without cutting, hence the need for the Jigsaw. I do plan to have some 2x4's to support the tank while the center is gone just in case.

I removed a center brace that was held in by staples like yours... I used a car jack with wood blocks to support the tank you can never be to safe then I used a rubber mallet and tapped it out from behind after I was done installing my sump I placed the center brace back into position and braced it from behind with a 2x4 and some wood screws...
