I'll be going on a vacation to Cancun next month and was wondering if anyone has checked out any shops/divers/wholesalers from there. Anyone ever tried to ship livestock from there if it's even possible? Any suggestions/ideas for me to checkout while on vacation? TIA

I wouldn't want anything out of that nasty water down there=)All the mexican snails I got besides one died also..

let me know when you go, I "friend" wants to send me a ''package'' if you don't mind, can you bring it with you?

LMAO

Hey yeah I have a friend there too he's short brown skinner and carries an AK-47... I need you to pick up these big bags he has and then we'll split the profits=)

Not only is it next to impossible to get a permit, it take multiple agencies to sign off on it *and* you have to list whom it is being exported to at the time of the submission. There are hundreds of check points in Mexico and if a Federale sees any live animals, fish/inverts included, they will ask to see papers. No papers means jail.

Dan there is a ton of good stuff in Mexican waters and despite what the mass media is feeding you, it's not as bad as they make it out to seem like. You snails died due to the poor handling and un ethical care for them in the CoC (Chain Of Custody).

Seems like I make this post a few times a week now with all you travelers  At least I can put 10+ years of dealing with Mexico to use :P

And if you're driving, get Mexican insurance and carry it with you. Same deal about about Federale and checkpoints.

Big time +1 on this

There is a sign at the border that clearly states you must have mexican isurance. NO american insurance policies cover mexico losses. And yes, they will keep your car and the mexican rental place will charge you for it.

Page 1, line 1 of our policy reads:

This policy does not provide coverage for accidents or losses that occur in Mexico.
