Anyone had their Jebao DC Return pump break?

Not sure. I only had one pump and 1 controller when it quit, and sent the whole setup back for replacement. The power supply and controller seemed fine - lights were the same, etc., so I assumed it was the pump itself but really never knew.
Anyone had their Jebao DC Return pump break?
Hmm. My power supply and controller went bad after about 5 months. I LOVE my pump and other Jebao DP-4 Dosing Pump. I have a replacement controller/power supply coming, which they're covering under warranty. It seems that when they fail, it happens within the first few months. Jebao is selling so many of these pumps, wavemakers and various other products that there are bound to be ones with issues. I don't hold it against them and would get another Jebao pump in a heartbeat. The new Pumps, the DCT series, have supposedly been fully updated and I haven't heard of any issues with these. The pump is SILENT, moves a LOT of water, is fully adjustable, is extremely energy efficient and comes in at about HALF the price of other branded pumps on the market. Besides colors and logos, these pumps are almost identical to their competitors.

Anyone find a suitable replacement power supply for this pump?
I assume it's the power supply. I unplug and plug it back in and the pump and controller starts up for about a minute then dies.

That sounds like the motor to me and not the PSU. Sounds like the coils going bad but it could also be the driver in the controller itself.

You might be right on that.
In the back of my mind I was always skeptical on these China branded DC pumps, less then a year in service.

I had the reef octopus version on my Diablo skimmer which essentially was the same as the waveline/jaebo DC pumps.
It died after 10 months.
If you go into some of the forums and search you will see that about 2/3rd of the first gen of the waveline/jaebo/reef octopus DC pumps died between 7 months and 2 years of service.
Problem was....they were not $70.00 pumps, they were $230 and up.......
A lot of ****ed off customers. About half (including myself) were lucky enough to have theirs go out during the 1 yr warranty period. The other half...not so lucky.
Their second gen seems much improved.....now weather "much improved" means true quality 4+ year pumps or just close to 2 years so that none get replaced under warranty???? I can't say but several are breaking the 2 yr barrier on gen 2 so far.
I run these el cheapo Deep blue pond pumps....so far two plus years and no problem
.including 2x feed cycles a day. They are like $40 on amazom so I can afford to run two of them so I have a back up already installed and a 3rd spare in the closet. Plus 2 pumps means I get 2 speeds....not as many as a DC pump but for $40-$50 each....
Edit: I just checked and for some reason the deep blues have jumped to $75.
For that I would buy a pair of sicce syncra 3s for $110 instead.

My DC6000 has been running for about a year and a half. Hopefully it will continue to run. My only complaint is that it is the single loudest part of my system. It has a whine to it I don't like. Compared to the AC pump it replaced which was silent. Been looking at the Vectra and Neptune COR pumps. Sicce syncra pumps are great. I want to convert to all DC though.
