Anyone have a condy anemone?

My mom saw a condy at petco and wanted to bring it home badly for the new clowns. (sigh, yes, petco :lol: ). Either way, does anyone have any experience with these? Poor choice for an anemone? I was thinking petco doesn't have great stuff, but it's $8. Would percs host it?

And if I would go with it you look for what, "puffy", colored base, and well attached to rocks?

Is there any cons with condys that nobody on here I ever see with one?

If perculas tried to use a condy for a host they would most likely end up being its next meal. I'm not going by my experience, I am just going by what I have read. I have never owned one because of what I have read about them on several forums. They aren't fish hosting anemones...but, they are a great anemone if you have anemone shrimp or anemone crabs.

I have owned several in the past. There are several different types of condylactis, the most common variety you find is Pink-Tipped Anemone, from Florida. They are cheep and are not considered host anemones however I has a maroon host one in the past. It may be tempting due to their low cost but if you want your clown to host, I would forgo the condy. If you have never kept anmeones in the past I would recomend a bta, I don't know what kind of clowns but you'd have a better chance of having your clowns host than with a condy.

If you choose to get a condy, I'd look for one that has nice color and is fully inflated and nicely attached. These are very cheep and often mishandled.

i bought a condy from my friend hes a fish collector and in the caribbean we have nothing as far as fish to host these nems i tried to ask the same thing here but its just a do at your own risk type situation
