If so are you having trouble with internet too?

My pages never fully load and trying to link from one page to another is almost impossible. Trying to do simple things like spell check or "submit a new thread" works about 1/2 the time. My husband told me that some of Staunton doesn't even have cable or they are having even more trouble than us.

My friend in NVa has had no trouble on the other hand. So just wondering whats happening with you guys.

yeah the burg is undergoing the switch and I've had a few problems. pages loading very slowly and what not when it used to be nearly flawless. several times in the last week i have had to completely unplug my cable modem and plug it back in, that seems to help for a short time.

hooray :(. and here i was thinking that the switch would make things better, and actually affordable. since i'm on directv for my tv they want $60 a month for cablemodem (which is why i have no intarweb at home). guess i could drop the directv and go cabletv to get the package price. i got directv years ago because the cable tv signal quality here was *horrible*. they compressed the bandwidth on most of their channels to fit more payperviews on. i guess things are probably better these days though.

right after I posted my system started loading lighting fast, it lasted for all of 3min and now is back to the same old stuff. If what I saw for those 3mins is what I can eventually expect then WOW that would be great but this week had been a Internet drag.

We did the modem thing a couple of times but like you said it only lasted for a little while.

Matt I hear that they are going to raise their rates soon...........might want to check it out and see if you can get a package deal before it happens.

my parents have comcast in richmond, VA

the service is absolutely terrible. they have a cable modem set up, but the speed of the internet is only equal to that of a DSL hook up.

i tested this out on several different computers, so i know its not a personal computer thing slowing down the connection. it was much faster on whatever service they had before comcast bought them out. supposedly the connection from the main street that splits off to the neighborhood is overloaded.

they are thinking about checking into the fiber optic verizon service that will be available soon.

i haven't noticed any issues with the adelphia/comcast hook up at my apt though. but wouldn't be surprised if they decrease bandwidth. my rates have already increased, but it wasn't by much (yet).
