Moved to Corona & planning on setting up my sump/fug (60g) in the garage while my main tank (135g) is in the house.
Was wondering if anyone has this type of a setup & if they had any issues on Temp swings on the main tank.

Thanks in advance for any input/suggestions

i have a 150 and a 120 in the garage. the gargage does get warm. i insulated it to the max. added a attic fan with a thermostate.(this was the best thing i did for my tanks). i do use a chiller in summer and heater in winter. it all works out. you are welcome to come by and check it out for ideas.

A friend of mine had a system like this. He also added an attic fan. One thing that will help is to place the sump directly on the concrete. This will help use the cooler ground temperature to help with cooling in the summer. It does however hinder maintaining heat in the winter.

Yep, just a Greg said, placing the sump directly on the concrete helps. I have a 90G acrylic sump sitting on the concrete and it does help keep the tank coo. It just makes it a little harded to heat it though during the winter. Guess it's one or teh other. Just figure out which uses the least amount of electricty, heaters or chillers and then plan for a setup to utilise that method. heavy insulated w/ chiller or open and on the concrtet with heaters. ;)

Blown Chevy, as usual, has good suggestions. All the other posts add valuable info. No reason it can't be successful. Good luck.
