Hello, I came across this website, Fishvet. They state that they have good meds for use in the display tank with no harm to corals or inverts etc. NO-Ich, Revive and Aqua Pro Cure. These are suppose to CURE Ich, Marine Velvet, as well as several other maladies ??? So who has any experience with them ??? What was your long term success ??? How did the rest of your tank fare ??? It would be awesome if these really worked.

Possibly the most common topic on this forum section. There are scads of products like this around. There is nothing that will cure these parasites in a reef tank. If there was, news would spread quickly. I've never heard of any of these working, have heard of many failures. The Holy Grail of fish diseases/parasites hasn't been found.

IMO, these products are responsible for many fish losses, because they delay real treatment.

Hello Tusk. Reading some of your replies led me to this inquiry. I too, find it hard to believe. That's why I'm getting ready to set-up a couple QT's. Have you tried them ?

I haven't tried them myself; but I'd never put anything into a tank unless I knew it worked, especially into a reef. Revive and Pro-Cure both contain formalin (formaldehyde) which is not only not effective on crypto (ich) or velvet; its deadly to inverts. The formalin in this stuff must be at an unimaginably low level if it wasn't going to harm corals. I don't know whats in No-Ich; but have never heard of it working. All 3 of these products say they biodegrade within a few days. Ich cysts certainly aren't going to be killed by any of these products, even copper doesn't kill them. When the next generation of parasites emerges, and the med is gone, what happens?

Just sharing what I've learned and read; I know of nobody, whose advice I trust, who endorses any of these products. To me, these things are like the TV products that say "not available in stores!" If they're so good, why not?

You may find some more info by searching the forum.
