Anyone have any luck with bio pellet reactors?

Has anyone had any luck with bio pellet reactors to remove nitrates and phosphates? If not, what was everyone been using with success?

Water changes, vinegar, and judicious wet skimming here - too many horror stories of pellets crudding up a tank for me to have any confidence in them.

Been running for about a year steady. Was a die hard nopox guy, but appreciate automation. I piped the drain to the intake of my skimmer and has been great for me. Takes time to establish, but its really a set it and forget item except for the occasional refill of the pellets. I also use the recommended biospheres from reef octopus which tumble great resulting in less clumping than my previous pellets.
