so yeah... i fell into the yellow tail damsel trap... though i don't totally regret it, he is an awesome fish and cute how he hovers through his caves and pops out.

Limited by the tank size as it is only 10gallons. Would i be looking at a future addition in the fish department? or not? Ive read its kinda a 50/50 chance when it comes to yellow tailed damsels temperament, as they do seem more so timid, but yet they ARE still damsels none the less...

Or would sticking with corals and shrimp be my only future residents?

In my own experience any other fish will probably get decimated. I had 1 in my 55g and it tore up every new arrival except for a goby and a blackbar chromis. They look cute until a deep rooted hatred develops down the road as it chews new fish into nuggets lol.

I had one in my 28 for about 3 years then added another one,I got lucky as they turned out to be a pair,They have spawned several times. But in a 10 gallon I wouldn't take chance of it killing any new fish. hth

haha yeah... i guess i have yet to experience its aggression. Is it unheard of for them to pair off/ breed in home aquaria? Or is this more common in larger dedicated tanks where casualties are destined to occur?

maybe ill just wait until my 40g acrylic peacock mantis tank is here and set up so i can put the little bugger in there :b

so once the 10g is free of fish...

hahaha welp soon he will either be in a tank with a queen trigger or I will hold onto him until I get the peacock mantis tank up.

any ideas for when I move him? pygmy wrasses are cool but I don't want them picking on my sexy shrimp If I do get sexies.

just something active and not too shy.
