Kalkwasser injections work for many people, but don't work for others. What does this mean? Do these unlucky few have some species of
Aiptasia that has developed a resistance to kalkwasser? Possibly. Do I think this is the case for the mysterious results of those with failed attempts? Not at all.
One thing about kalkwasser injection: you have to
INJECT them.
When I mix up a solution, I mix up a paste. I'm talking it's like going to McDonald's, buying a triple-thick milkshake, and leaving it sitting in your car with the A/C off in the sun under a magnifying glass wearing a turtle neck in the Arizona desert for a week-thick. Then, as the needle is bulging out due to the girth of my kalk-paste, I slowly squirt some into the anemone's mouth. This results in something almost like a feeding response, the anemone senses that the paste is some sort of food and is no longer threatened by it. Then, I poke the needle into the anemone and completely fill it with kalkwasser inside and out. At this point, there is only a small amount of the anemone visible underneath my mat of super-paste.
I have not lost one battle, yet.
I think a lot of people just squirt some kalk on the anemone, see the anemone jerk back into the rock, and expect that it is reacting to the kalkwasser and slowly dying from within the rock. This is
not happening. The anemone moved back for protection, the majority of the paste is lost, and it is now forming a reproductive plan to combat the new threat that has stumbled upon it. This is why many people see even
more anemones after an injection.
Nate, any store should be able to order some for you if you cannot find one through another reefer. But, I wouldn't expect a store to chime in on this thread if they have them due to the consequences that it seems to bring with it.

I personally wouldn't care, but maybe they could contact you by PM.
