Anyone having good luck with Elegance Coral these days!

Almost 15 years ago I kept a wonderful "Elegance" coral healthy for a very long time, later selling it when it became too large for my tank setting. Couldn't have anything near it a vicious stinger she was! I know there were issues in keeping them that have arose from overharvesting and sellers selling deeper water ones that would not survive since then . After a ten year hiatus from the hobby I am again thinking of trying one again. I see today many ads for them but everyone I see in ads looks terrible to my eye. Is anyone having good success in keeping them these days? Jst to see here is that beauty from long long ago. The word "Elegance" is perfect for them when seeing them sway in a gentle flow. . Thanks

All new specimens are out of Austrialian waters which are reported to do much better than the Indo.
Still somewhat hit and miss, and your right, powerful sting...

One thing I did learn about them was our often too sterile of water from over skimming and such they don't care for. I would imagine those from Australian still like a bit dirtier water too. My one worry is still harvesting of corals . I am beginning to believe maybe any harvesting is wrong. If It can't be breed and raised in tanks maybe we should not display them anymore?

I could not have said this better! I worry some people think these corals are disposable...but then that is a whole other thread!

I am from Western Australia. I have two in my 300g tank. Both thriving and doing well. I have very sterile water with skimmer, UV, ozone (ORP 400) and algae reactor.

Not sure if mine were captured or bread.

It is currently 4am so they are dormant presently but if anyone is interested I am happy to post pictures later today.

Would love to see them. But I did check with a local expert much more up to date than I . He says all are still "harvested from the sea. Something I will no longer do.
