Anyone know anything about a SCWD?

Switching Current Water Director - SCWD. I was checking this thing out on the drsfostersmith.com web site and I was considering buying one of these. Any input?

They work as long as you don't put too much flow thru them, and clean them often so they don't get jammed up with junk!

Mine has been great for almost two years now. Its a pretty basic wave-maker. Its pretty cool.

Look out! It's the rare-spotted Tim! Only seen once every 3 months in the wild.

Nope! Not at all. I've never heard it make any noises, even when I'm right next to it. I thought about upping my flow and getting the 1" model, but I think I'll probably just go with a Vortech MP20 if I do anything like that.

Get 1 size bigger than your plumbing size. They tend to restrict flow if you use the same size.

I've heard that the tend to restrict flow (If I recall correctly, someone tested them and determined that the output of the flowing side was only like 60% of what the input was), but will they switch as effectively/frequently with oversizing?
