It only comes out at night and is always on the same place.

i have 2 in my tank that are about 10 to 12 inches long i watched them good to they look for left over food to eat and will not mess with corals or inverts, that goodness to cause mine are as big around as my finger. i caught one and put it in sump and other one is in tank basically i think it is a bristle worm that just got huge.
 
It looks like a bristle worm, or a fire worm.

If your softies aren't dissapearing I wouldn't worry.

It might be in the stage right before it exploads and sends all its epitoykes out.
