Hey all,

I should be getting the first shipment of rock (150 pounds) followed by another shipment in a couple weeks (150 pounds) from Tampa Bay Saltwater. Based on everything I have been reading this should equal some where between 3 - 10 mantis. Since I don't want to give them to the LFS for the nominal credit they would give me and I don't have the facilities for them I am looking to find people in the area that might be willing to pay a reasonable price for them ($10 or so reasonable? let me know...).

Please let me know if you might be interested. If I find more people that are interested than I find Mantis Shrimp they will go in order of the requests.

Hi splach, I live in the Seattle area and I am definitly interested in the mantis shrimps. I would like more than two if it is possible.
Thanks! And hopefully it can be cheaper than 10 bucks depending on the size.

Hello Venwu225,

I am sure we can work out some quantity discount. :)

Of course it all depends on the rocks and how good I get at catching them but with 300 pounds of rock I will be surprised if I don't have quite a few.

hey Splach, when are you getting the rocks in again? I hold high expectations to the number of stomatopods. ....also I am getting antsy.
thanks.

Hi guys. I received my first shipment of 150 pounds of rocks. I found 1/2 a dozen gorilla crabs, 2 pistol shrimp (including one that is stunning, bright red with bright blue legs), but no mantis. I am hearing the occasional "pop" from the tank but since it is not the "pop pop pop" associated with mantis they may all be hiding or I may not have gotten any on this shipment. Considering the fact that one of my rocks is 10" think and is full of holes it is reasonable to expect that they may be hiding and could remain that way for the next week or so. Sorry, but keep your fingers crossed...
