Anyone lost a foot?

I noticed while my crocea was attaching itself to the rock (it has been attached to a clam 1/2 shell) it lost part of it's byssal foot in the process & practicly ended up floating in the tank.

Clam looks healthy & is attached now, however, I thought it was kinda weird.

i agree its nothing to worry about.

its not really there "foot" its there byssal threads(think of it as hair or fingernails). they can attach with these when they wont or release them at any time. they are just a glandular secretion that will harden and hold the clam in place. there's no blood or nerves, kind of like hair
