Awww so cute! Thanks :) Yeah last year one got into my garage and was so tired he let me climb the ladder and grab him off the beam and for the first time I got to hold one! I brought him down got the feeder and he sat in my hand until he had enough
nector and flew off! It was amazing :)

Do apple trees draw monarchs?

I dont think so but humming are suppose to like the apple flowers right? I have no idea why the monarchs are here every year. maybe because my yard is kinda damp most of the time? not sure. not too many flowers in the yard either but every year there about 10 at any given time. I saw something interesting about monarchs on "life" about how they migrate to Mexico every winter.

there is a place in Pismo Beach...near my brother's house...eucalyptus trees...if you walk into them and stand there...you can see the trees moving....MILLIONS OF MONARCHS. it's absolutely the most incredible sight...

yeah they said they stop off in cali to mate. then the new monarchs continue the trip to mexico and do the same thing on there way back up to lake erie

When I lived in Michigan, I had a huge cherry tree that was infested with the buggers. It coincided with baltimore orioless migrating through. It was an absolutely amazing thing to see. There must have been thousands of each.
