Any chance you can get some pics of the different species we dont see here in NY? That would be awesome!
This is Allen's Hummingbird. One cool thing about this bird is that as recently as 10 or so years ago it was only found on islands off the coast of California but for reasons unknown it has moved to the mainland where it is doing really well.

Anna's Hummingbird used to have very small breeding ranges in California but as people started planting new flowering trees on a large scale the breeding range expanded to match.

Black Chinned Hummingbirds are one of the most common and most widely distributed hummingbirds in the western half of the country.
