Just wanted to see how many people still run their older powerheads?

Right now i am still running my 10 year old 6100 and 2 6000's on my 7095 controller. Other than a prop change on 2 of the pumps they still run just as good as the day i got them. Other then them being on the bulky side how many other companies can say they have pumps running this long with min. repair.

Keep up the great work tunze. Dont ever let your quality slip.

I assume that less than a quarter are still in use, we expect a 5 year service life from DC pumps, 10 years from AC pumps and while these lives may well be double with good care and some luck, these are the engineering targets and the lives are respectably long compared to many of our competitors. DC pumps tend to have shorter lifespans due to the electronics failing with age and use, especially when subjected to abuse (not cleaning them often enough) which results in heat that damages the circuitry. I don't sell as many spare parts for them as we once did, these models would be between 9 and 14 years old now.

Wow i really hope i didnt jinx myself lol. Either way 5 years with a powerhead is very good with all the starting and stopping they do. They are well worth the money IMO.

Im planning a 4'x5'x30" tank for my next build but it will be with plywood so with the epoxy and such it will almost be an inch thick so magnets are harder to find for powerheads so im still in the design faze of going closed loop or powerheads. But i can guarentee they will be tunze if i go the powerhead route

I have the brown 6000/ the small puck I do have the large puck but I just have not put on line yet No controller, I missed a couple of great deals on some 7095 controllers. Still works great it gets a vinegar bath every time it looks unsightly.

I still have a 6200 that still runs perfect. I just use it for mixing saltwater. But it does an awesome job and still kicks butt!!
I do however own 6 of the 6105. Love them. I run vortechs too but just can't get myself to sell the 6105, I always think that I'm gonna go back to them. As for the 6200, im probably never gonna get rid of it. Even if I get out of the hobby, I'm probably gonna keep it for display on my shelf, lol
