Anyone try Marine Environment dual phase formula salt mix???

Wow, Steve........ that was ugly.

ez, most of the salt mixes we use are more than adequate for our tanks. Some salts work better for some than others.

I have not heard of any negative comments on this particular brand.

:eek1:

;)

I've never tried it. No local source around here that I know of. I do think I remember seeing it about 15 years ago on some LFS shelves.

It could actually be worth a try and doubt it could be any worse than trying some of the "cheap" grades out there. Anyone showing so much "passion" for their product might deserve a chance.

ez

There is nothing wrong with using his salt, just like many others. However, is lines are nothing but BS, as is the S-15 report. I won't say anymore about my fellings towards Aqaucraft otherwise I will get banned from our own chem forum. I'm not very nice about it as Steve and Maxx know.

His salt has been around for 20 years. So, ask yourself the question, why have you and many others never heard of it ;)

That '"ugly" Billy mentioned is not even close to what I did to him or RAG, RS and FF. I'm the one that got him banned.
:smokin:

lol well seeing how so many people have problems with his character, i'm guessing its probably more than a coincidence that there are some issues with him. i guess the perfect salt will be a dream never fulfilled in this hobby :(

I would never tell you where to get some :)

I will.

SDC or Sea Dwelling Creatures, an LA wholesaler, stills list the product on their line card on the website. So most/many LFS could get it for you by request.

Not true. :) The perfect salt mix is the one that makes your tank flourish and look its best.

You just have to try some different ones for awhile. You'll find it.

Seachem Reef Salt is the ideal salt mix and will make every tank flourish and look its best.

like here

personally i think if your going to call BS on something, like the s-15 report, back it up. yes this product has been around for many years, not 20 years i believe its closer to 35 years /shrug. i have no idea if its the real deal, but i sure dont have anything to say it isn't. in fact alot of people use this product. i remember when PA started carrying it, yeah it was because of the bogus s-15 report :eek1:

Sheesh....... Here we go again.......

He has backed it up.... many times. Heck this S-15 report you speak of was back in 1999 if I remember correctly. Almost 8 years ago.

But, if you insist, I'm sure Boomer will be back online in the am........ to BS it again........ just for you.

:D

All one has to do is go to his website and read the report and do so searching. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure it out. A couple of short quickies

1. There is no such thing as Global Scientific Publications, accept in ref to him. It is one of his other so called companies.

2. He did not breed the first clown fish Martin Moe did.

3. Anresco, Inc. is a lab where is brother-in-law works.

4. He collected all the salts to be so called assayed

5. Why did the salt go to one lab and then another lab. The University of Missouri was not good enough to do all of it on its own by just a simple request from Aquacraft to do it, where Aquacraft would flip the bill ?

5 Environmental Trace Substance and Technology . Please find me this place. Or is he just confused and it is Environmental Trace Substances Research Center. He says it is all certified, OK go find it on his website.

6. 3045 & 13045 PROCESS ® Note the " ® ". There is no such process, it is just a number he gave it to make it look real/ authentic. A marketing gimmick.

7. Everything he claims on that website, S-15, was does 12 years ago.

8. "When the S-15â"žÂ¢ Reportâ"žÂ¢ was introduced, key information was made available in the form of a simple bar graph.

This was printed in Tropical Fish Hobbyist and Marine Fish Monthly magazines. "

These where Aquacraft adds

9. "Magnesium (MG) in natural seawater (NSW) is 1350 parts per million (PPM)"

Where on earth did he get that. It is a known fact that NSW is 1290 ppm so his so called graph plots are way off so they fit his salts. He does this for many of these assays.

How come he does not put this S 15 assay all on a one page plot. Because he does not want you to be able to really compare salts. He only wants you to see what he wants you to see. Go there and copy all those gif reports and compare things when they are side by side and then look at hoe he scores things.

Ok......that's good enough for me. Besides, everyone already knows that Seachem Reef Salt is practically indistinguishable from NSW, well.....maybe a tad more borate

yeah, i was leaning on the seachem reef salt for my next salt. currently using TM. thanks for the debates on his info!
