Anyone up for another 135 Thread?

Hey John, you finally arrived to my thread!

The temp has been stable for the most part, and we are installing our ACs this week, so everything will be ok.

I'm not having daily salinity issues. I'm having to topoff about every 2-3 days. I told my mom to check everyday just in case. Salinity is fine.

Stock list is as follows:
1. Foxface

That's it. Then you have the emerald, pep shrimp, and my snails, and those corals. I'm going very slow, huh.
I fed the Foxface by hand. He eats nori out of my hand, it's pretty cool.

Pics will come after my sister leaves. I will have a tank shot, and my arsenal. What else should there be pictures of?

URGH

My sister lacks a social life, and never left the house nor her computer nor her camera today. I'm going to the beach tomorrow, so I will have pictures SUNDAY. The assault will be underway then anyways, so it will be interesting..

Actinics were on on the right side of the tank still. Keep in mind these are the same corals, just some new, better pictures, to keep you all interested until I get my Skunks...

The anthelia experiment (it's growing!)

Quick shot of the palys (camera was dying; they are growing too!)

The Colt coral is finally happy:

The Devils Hand opened his polyps for the first time today, but slimed up, and excreted this. It had just been blown off the coral by the flow in the tank, and I had to capture a shot before it went away:

Here is the Devils Hand now:

The digi's growth has slowed, so I'm assuming it needs more calcium. Thus a WC and some B-Ionic is needed. Here are some shots of the digi:

Close up (polyps are puuuuuurdy):

Now for the star of the tank, who's being a little camera shy:

Here he is! A little unhappy about having his photo taken, but he's doing great:

He'll have two new friends soon, yay!

Welcome Jordo

I will be getting a pair of Pink Skunks from the LFS sometime either this week or next, and probably picking up a few corals. I need to start stocking huh? I've waited a long time, and my tank will be very clean after Operation Lawnmower (the valonia assault).

It's about time for some more pics, tell your sister to share she doesn't want me to come up there.
The rock in the pics looks a lot better and the corals are definitely healthy. How about a full tank shot?

I can try to get a full tank shot tomorrow. I will be tubing though.
Here are some shots of the battalion...

Here we have the front line, including the tanks, artillery, and infantry:

John, the palys are looking cooler each day. Every time I count them, I spot a new little baby one. They glow so nicely under actinics too.

Greg, I will have a full tank shot after Operation Lawnmower, with my new aquascaping attempt. I wish to hide the overflow...it will look like TJcop's hopefully.

I'm glad the Devils Hand finally came around, I really like it :)

Ok, I was suggested a Frogspawn as my next coral. What do you think?

This week, I want to get the pair of Skunks, and another coral. Keep in mind I have $135, and $85 in gift certificates.

Frogspawn are nice as long as you leave space around them, they have a nasty sting. They can touch hammers just fine though.
I love Blasto Wellsi's but they're hard to come by sometimes, ricordia are nice. It really depends on what you can find when you go.

I want something really colorful, but not too difficult. I will be away a bit this summer, so I don't want to take too many risks. A Frogspawn sounded appealing, but I don't really want to worry about possible stinging of other corals. Any suggestions?

You could try some different leathers. I have a huge green sinularia that I love. It has been through alot and has always stayed healthy. Or you could try some other LPS like candys, bubbles, and brains. I have mostly LPS in my tank and they have been really hardy for me. So far the my bubbles and galaxy have the longest sweepers, so since you were worried about them I would watch them closer if you get them. The brains and candys have very short feeding sweepers that don't go farther than 1/4 of an inch.

Well I found a pretty good deal on a Frogspawn locally, so after I finish the valonia removal, I will make sure there is a nice spot for it. $40 for 3 heads!

Two tubs are filled right now, mixing SW, so all that's left to do is siphon some water out of the tank for the last bucket, and then we're good to go. Goodbye valonia! :strooper:
