Anyone up for another 135 Thread?

all you would need then is some ferns and a zen rock garden and you would have your own "weeping wall" (just with coral), meditation room

2x8's would hold the weight and i would leave the concrete blocks exposed for that "industrial look". build it like a pyramid a very wide base taking up the wall and slowly get narrower as you go up the wall by stacking more concret blocks on top of the wood.
that way it will support the weight and not be top heavy.

attach the wood to the concrete using anle brackets and tap cons(not large diameter or it will crack the block) and attach to wall with wall anchors(just so it doesnt get tipsy) and fall over!

if 2x8's seem too narrow then strips of 1" plywood any width you want and 2x4's for bracing and basically just build a book shelf for fish...

I really don't get this. Would I make a square of cinderblocks on the ground, cover that by wood, then another square ontop, smaller, cover that with wood, etc etc?

what do you mean square?

picture a book shelf but the walls made up of concrete blocks instead of wood and the 2x8's or whatever as the shelves.
the tanks are staggered, not one on top of the other

I'm a little confused with Deadmullets setup as well so don't feel like your the only one Tyler. It sounds like a cool idea and I understand what it will look like but I can't figure out how to set it up.

Well since that you couldn't get the 90 then I say that you should do the nanos if thats what you like best it's all your opinion and if thats what you like then do what you like. It's a good idea that you will have the 100g sump to make more water volume cause if you didn't have that then I would of said different to the nano idea.

so how are you going to plumb the tanks togeather??

With PVC. I've got lots of extra from the 135, 1.5", just need some more fittings, and a couple gate valves. Then I'm going to paint it black with Krylon Fusion. Going to look mighty suave :p

I Dont think i have the vagest idea on how to make it work either, lol it was an idea off the top of my head that i though you might want to run with thats all

Yes, it sounds very nice, with the plants and such, but I have no idea how to make it either. I think I will make this desk sturdier using dfoucals tips. It's a nice piece of furniture, and then I can put plants around the tanks on that.

I wouldn't want to do it then either. I know it would be way harder if it was just standard nanos...THAT would make me leave the hobby.

I'm in the process of diagramming the setup using my awesome Microsoft Paint skills.

That would be a nice idea Matt. The added water volume would help things. If someone local can drill for you (like my local club! :D), then I say go for it...make sure you drain the tanks and put all the stuff in Rubbermaids first though, while you're drilling and plumbing.

or how about a fish only with live rock tank tank it wouldnt be much more expensive aside frome the fish just think you could even get a trigger eh?eh? or tusk fish are cool large angles i love large FOWLR's

That was my original plan, see back a few posts. I can't do that because I don't have the space to tie in a nano.

Well then I'd have to get another skimmer, new lights for the FOWLR, etc etc...all the equipment is going to be used on this system.

Now, my diagram...
