Anyone up for another 135 Thread?

ummm what diagram i see no diagram???

well you could leave the 135 where it is untill you finish your nanos then save for the skimmer ect for the 135

Wait! Hold the press! I got an idea! Why not do a lagoon biotope in the 135!You could put a deep oolitic sand bed and some scattered outcropping of livesrock with kelp and some sand corals/ sand clams/ squamosa/maxima/hippopus along with some sps/lps and fill it like halfway and put mangroves in! You have the lights to do it! The mangroves may eventually grow to hide the overflow.. ooo yeah and some turtle grass and you could get some mandarins and pot belleid seahorses! Maybe a gorg or two, that would be amazing!

My two cents[

Mike will post the diagram, I tried hosting it, but it got resized.

If I made the 135 a FOWLR, that would eliminate the whole purpose of this. I'd still have to maintain that, save up for a big skimmer, etc etc, along with the system upstairs. As easy as this new system may be, maintaining two at once would be very tough.

Nick, awesome idea!..for the new nanos that is. :D

Remember, I'm not unhappy with the insides, but the setup; location, size, etc., along with the money and maintenance issues. With that idea though, I wouldn't have to save for Tunze or another halide, it is interesting, I'll give it thought.
Or I can rig in another tank!

that would be so sweet mandarins and seahorses that would be sooooooooooooooooooo sweet i love mandarins only you can only keep a few though right becasuse they are agressive twords each other i know melv has a couple in his 280

Or do a CLAM TANK!!!

I really like those overflowing tank.. the ones where the water flows over the sides and down into the sump.. wow that would be sweet

So how about an SPS/LPS 20, an anemone/clown/zoo 20, and a lagoonal seahorse/mandarin/clam 15 or 20?

awsome idea, i would love to do something like this and use only things that grow/live in my local waters...

does anyone know of any good places to read up on biotopes?

Mandarins aren't recommended for smaller tanks because of the lack of pods and lack of sufficient LR. But I'll have all that in my fuge. It will only have to face the return pump, which shouldn't be a problem, as many many people have fuges in their sumps.

ya no mandarins in the smaller systems.. although Kayla has one that eats prepared food in her 20 gallon. If you could find one. My LFS has 5 that eat prepared and are fat as can be in these sterile little fish cubes. Mine eats frozen... I love him :) makes me happy. Too bad I don't know the first thing about shipping else i would buy one and ship it to you.

Wait.. gosh you post while i'm making a post making the one im working on useless. If you hope for sufficent pods to get into the tanks i suggest the fuge be plumped ABOVE the tanks. to prevent them being turned into sushi.. although strangely enough I have a CAP 1800 return pump for my fuge and WHOLE LIVE amphipods make it through...strange.
