Ok, I filled it up mostly (still have to finish plumbing), but GREAT NEWS! I convinced my dad to let me keep the dual 250w halide setup from Giovanni! Strategy: it will cost more to buy them new later on, than use them now. We were going to sell them for around $250, but one bulb isn't as good as I thought, so we were going to let it go for $200. So, you couldn't buy new halides for $200, so we are going to keep them!! I've already got an IceCap 430, so we're set there too!! Super sweet lighting setup!

I've never run across a heater that couldn't be fully submerged. I just thought I'd point it out and try to add a wee bit of help in this thread :rollface:

Tyler, cool find with the zoos. If I'm not mistaken, they need moderate flow and light. Just don't lick em..
I have one aiptasia in my tank. I used boiling water and a turkey baster, but the aiptasia came back.
My second try I used an insulin syringe and injected it with a heavy salinity/calc mix- either the thing half lived or part of it moved right next door.
Tomorrow night will be attempt number 3. Yummy.

Insaneclowfish, believe me that apaistia will be back with more little ones, the only realy permanent remover of those things are peppermint shrimp and some fish(i dont knwo the type) i have been batteling them using calcium for a fairly long time now, they dont bother me that much, i just keep there numbers down

The aiptasia hasn't come back, and it's been a few days. No updates in a while, huh. It's because I've been trying to take pictures for you guys of stuff inside the tank, like my zoanthids, and I can't. Today, I'm FINALLY finishing the plumbing (got the parts I needed) and painting the inside of the overflow box with the black silicone I picked up at the meeting. Then FINALLY the water will be totally circulating (1 powerhead in there now
), and the skimmer will be doing its job, rather than sitting next to the tank. Hopefully this week or sometime this weekend I can pick up a few hermits and emerald crabs. I'm going to test my levels tonight, I only did it once. The ammonia was .25 and that was the day after I got the stuff from Giovanni, so I'm assuming not much of a cycle is happening. Let's hope for good results tonight
