I am looking for an automatic feeder to throw some extra pellets in my tank while I'm gone. I have someone coming in to feed, but they are only going to be able to stop in once a day. I am looking for some advice on one that I can pick up locally to have for this coming week. Thanks guys.

I took a plastic measuring cup and cut the bottom of it out for my feeding ring.

But if your ordering a feeder anyways, you may as well pick that one up for $3.....looks a lot nicer than mine. :)

What type of fish do you have that require feeding that often? Once a day should be enough for most fish.

On a side note, how are the frags doing?

The frags are kicking but... My other fish I fed every other day, but my foxface nips milipora when he gets hungry, he needs to be fed twice a day.

That stinks about the millipora and the foxface. IF you have a sump, maybe have the ATO drop it in your return area and then your pump will push it in your tank. You could also have a timer on your pumps to turn off your powerheads for 15 minutes while the food gets dumped in.

This one is the best. It is reliable and very visable. There is a wheel that turns to drop the contents through a hole, so you can see the status easily. The only vulnerability is that you have to mount it above your tank or sump, and it is a matter of time before you drop it in the water. If you do, it uses the same clock motor movement that the cheap clocks at WallyWorld use, or even better yet Skycraft sells the movement for $3. You place pegs in the timer wheel for the number of feedings per day.
