ANyone use Spears union ball valves?

What you really want is something like the Hayward TruUnion ball valves. With the valve closed, you can remove either side and still have the valve seal against the other.

I have no experience with the Spears though.

Thousand Oaks, Biotech, you must work for Amgen?

I second the GF valves from Savko. However, I sprung for the single union as oppossed to the doubles because I just couldn't justify the added expense for what I percieved to be little or need. The only exception will be my return pump which will get the full Tru-union treatment as that is the one and only section of pipe that will actually contain water when the pumps are shut off.

I just made sure I spread around enough single union valves and couplers to allow the tank to be seperated from the stand in the unlikely event I find myself relocating. If that time ever comes that tank will be totally empty and the valves become nothing more than a way to seperate components.

thanks guys... I know about those others... I was just puzzled as to how Spears can call these union ball valves when I thought the purpose of a union valve is to allow for easy and quick connect and disconnect.

Anyways, I guess these will go up for sale... the valves are REALLY smooth and nice, but without the easy connect and disconnect, they are no use to me... so if anyone is looking for some 1in and 1.5in ball valves, pm me...I have some for sale.
