Anyone using Amino acids and/or reefroids in their reef tanks?

Whats the benefits have you seen in using it. I know the manufacturer tells you allot of stuff on the labels, but i want to hear from the people with personal experiences in using it..............corals growing faster, brighter color.......etc.

I use the amino acids to help get a feeding response, especially in corals that aren't doing well. Beyond that...haven't noticed anything dramatic for all the years I've been using them.

I follow more of the K.I.S.S. theory (Keep it simple, silly!) I've kept a wide variety of corals in the past 6 years. I've tried various products, and there's nothing I've kept up with other than amino acids and homemade food (seafood/algae mix). I get comparable colors/health for a lot less money. But, that's just me.

I believe you..................I think i'll start to blend up mysis, plankton and some other stuff and see how that works

I use random raw seafood from the grocery store. It's pretty inexpensive and makes a ton of food. I throw in some red/brown/green algae, a teeeeeny pinch of sugar, some garlic, and whatever random fish food I have lying around. I don't blend very long for LPS, but I also keep SPS and smaller fish, so I try to blend it longer for smaller pieces.
