Anyone Using Coral Vital

I have been thinking about dosing with Marc Weiss' Coral Vital. I had a problem with Ich, I thought I resolved. Come to find out, it has returned. A friend told me Coral Vital will help the corals in my tank as well as get rid of the Ich. The web site for CV also says the same thing. So I was curious if anyone is currently, or had used it, and what were the pros and cons of it?

Thanks
Rob

Most additives on the market that claim to get rid of ick don't work. Your best bet is copper and/or depressed salinity in a quarantine tank. That being said, i have used Coral Vital in the past and noticed no difference in ick outbreaks, but the corals did look better. If there is no way to remove the sick fish from the tank, then up the feedings and use garlic. A fat well fed fish is better equiped to fight ick naturally.

Matt's on the money. I believe that Ick will be present in every tank eventually. Beefing up the fish will help them fight it off. If you notice Ick breaking out, get your water parameters straight and supplement with Garlic. I had Ick so bad with a blue hippo and Purple tang, I thought they were goners. I heavily supplemented the diet with Eco Systems Garlic Elixir, and in a week they were healthy and the ick was suppressed. It's been 4 months and not a sign of it again. Not to be fooled...it's there, just waiting for the fish to get weak again.

Another school of thought is that after about 18 months and suppressed outbreaks, the cycle will be broken and ick could disappear from a tank altogether. Lot's of good reading in the sticky'd forums

Thanks guys, I have the fish in a QT right now treating them & I will keep them in the QT for 6 weeks. I was just curious about the CV, and if anyone uses it?
