Anyone using these lights?

Can anybody who is local call them for me and ask them when they plan on getting more 24" 2x65 watt Odyssea lights in. I would call jyself but my phone doesnt have long distance. I tried e-mail but like others got ne response.

Thanks,
Chris

Well I have sent them several emails almost begging them for a response and they refuse to answer them, guess their not interested in my $$ so I think I'm going to spend my $$ elsewhere. They need to take a serious look at their so called "customer service".

Synergy and TriggerJohn the lack of follow through you are receiving now will continue through the whole process. It will not improve.

It is too bad, it would be nice to have a low cost option that is worth while, but this is not it.

Kelley_mc did have a bad experience over a $7 light bulb, but many other people have been very pleased with what they have received. I have ran 2 of the 48" PC fixtures over my tank for over a year now, and have been very very happy with the product. I did replace the bulbs after about 8 months, and they new bulbs do put out much better color.

FWIW

capt. insano, what do you think about the lack of followup that Synergy and TriggerJohn are having? They are not the only ones with this problem. So am I, and from many other posts, so are many other people. Not only is the bulb bad, but so is the company.

capt. insano - on a another note, where did you get your replacement bulbs from? Are you happy with them?

:) Obviously I am going to need some bulbs! :)

I replaced my bulbs with 21" bulbs from www.hellolights.com

I am very happy with the color now. I opted for two 10k pc's and 2 50/50 (1/2 actinic, 1/2 10k) on each fixture. Very clear, white light now (it was pretty blue before the replacement)

Aquatraders didn't answer my email that I sent awhile back either. But they did answer their phone. I wouldn't use their PC bulbs. Get some better bulbs. I'm lucky that I can go to their store so if I have a problem, it's just a quick drive over there. If their customer service sucks, I might not risk buying it over the internet though.

Has anyone asked these people to check their e-mail or remove it? What is the point of having hundreds of people e-mailing an address that is never checked?

Thanks capt. insano! I will look into those.

Steel_Phoenix, the funny thing is that they emailed me and I responded to them. I asked them for a response and I have yet to hear back. I agree with you, they should just remove their email all together.

Getting new MH bubls in during the week for mine... will post some info and hopefully some pics after....

One other thing. It appears as though my two "free" MH bulbs are now putting out the same color of light. After a few days of running the lights the color has balanced out. I still will try the new bulbs though to see how 10k lighting compares.

Went to the store today with my buddy to check out their tanks and hopefully to see if the 24" MH fixture was in. Asked the guy at the counter and he said yes! Nice birthday surprise for me. He said he had one in the back turned on and one in the front just sitting there. Build quality is the same as their 48" fixture. The ballast is nice and heavy. Lights looked good over their tank. Heat coming from the fixture vent was warm. Fixture itself was warm and not hot. Ballast was warm also. Bought one on the spot and brought it home. See pics below. I will take some tank shots before and after comparing my 130W PC Coralife, after I stress test the unit over my kitchen granite counter top. Just in case something happens. Btw, there is no warranty with the unit. He tests the unit before giving it to you. He said the unit in the back has been on for awhile. Paid $250 for it. Internet price is cheaper but costs the same if you include shipping. I was hoping to save a little money by picking it up. Oh well. Now I hope it will be reliable. For the price, I am willing to be a guinea pig.

That is the type of boxes my 48" MH unit came shipped in except the individual ballast and fixture boxes were taped together and both were inside a much larger long box surrounded by styrofoam. Was very well packaged - much like your pictures indicate. Point is that I was shocked by the person who said theirs was packaged poorly. Glad mine wasn't.

Just a heads up for those interested in this unit. I did noticed a couple of things different on this unit than what is stated on their website.

1. The ballast doesn't have a built in digital timer like the 48" unit. Just 2 on/off switches. This sucks because I wanted the timers. And I can't put separate timers for the actinics and halide because the ballast only has 1 power cord.

2. The ballast and box says 175W MH. Website states it's 150W. Guess I get 25 more watts instead of the timer.
