Anyone using these lights?

Have they taken there 48" 150 watt MH light off the web site? if they did then I'm ****ed. I was planning on driving up there to get one as soon as my tax refund arrives which is any day now. I guess i'll call them in the morning and find out and post the answer.

Anyway, we added salt on Saturday night and it's been sitting for a good two days now. Unless someone can give me any advice otherwise I'm hoping it will be ready by next saturday (completely mixed in, already its clearing off the bottom)

We will be heading to the Florida State Fair which is like 15 mins away from Tampa Bay saltwater's place of operation. I was hoping to be able to pick up the first part of the package from them directly while we will be there.

So long as all the water parameters check out ok, is 1 week after adding salt ok?

Anyway, I will have more pics when we get stuff setup :) Maybe then I'll make a new thread so it isnt buried here.
 
I talked to Aquatraders this morning. Since they are uprgading there site they are also getting a larger stock base. I guess now they will have a 175 watt 48" metal halide hood. So who knows. i was told the site will be up on wednesday so you all can check it out.
 
175s won't be de, earlier in this post someone took apart their mh fixtures ballast and looked at the ballast, I think I remember it was really ansi rated for mogul based bulbs not de(except for one I think).........Threads now to long for me to look back though.....HTH.....and maybe the reason for changing the sockets...just a guess....maybe the person who did that will respond too....
 
I posted the ballast pictures earlier in this thread. I am anxious to see what will be on the website come Wednesday. The lights they sold me were sold as having an electronic ballasts but the pictures I posted suggested otherwise. However, the gentleman at Aquatraders very confidently said it would work with HQI bulbs. Kind annoyed though to see the unit no longer on the website and I'll just reserve further comment until Wednesday.
 
Same with the ballast for the 24" fixture. It's not an electronic ballast as stated on the website. I saw Warboc's pics and the other thread regarding what the M102 ballast can fire. I am still skeptical that this ballast can fire any HQI bulbs since the ballast was not originally designed to. And even if it can fire the bulbs, what about the effect on bulb life and ballast life. I guess I will be a guinea pig again and try the Phoenix 150W 14K bulbs. Overall though, I'm very happy with the fixture I bought and it's been working reliably.
 
I do not understand this but my two MH bulbs are now putting out different colors of light again. The left is more blue while the right is more white. They have been putting out identical color for almost two weeks now. Grrrrr!
 
My bulb puts out a pretty nice white light with hardly any blue (I thought 20K would be bluer). But I want a more bluer light. Warboc, does the color change when it warms up? What about turning it off, waiting 20 minutes and turning it back on?
 
The right one has gotten more blue over the past few hours. I'm just usually never around when they first come on - which currently is 4pm - since tank is still cycling I am running them on a limited schedule.

Anywyas, it looks fine now. I suppose my post was a kneejerk reaction. Now I can go back to being happy looking at my rocks. :D

Have no fear though, refugium algae/plants and a cleanup crew are going in by the end of the week!
 
I need some help figuring out what type of replacement bulbs I can buy for the actinic lighting in my fixture. The bulbs measure 34 inches long. Here is a picture of the ends and connectors:

First thing i want to ask(kinda emberassed i was an electrician). couldn't you buy the HO T5's of the same length and put them in the socket? i tend to thing that they wouldn't fire but hey maybe. 2nd thing. i guess if you were really an electrical wiz(once again emberassed I should know how this works), couldn't you get an electronic ballest and wire it to the timer and the light and get that to work. I mean since there is no warranty to void anyway. Anyone with more experiance then me want to chime in?

looks real nice.. no still haven't gotten it.. i e-mail them over and over gettin no response from them at all.. if u don't mind me askin whats in that tank???
